English Book Donation Criteria
What We Accept
Desirable Fiction Books in excellent condition.
NonFiction Books in excellent condition copyright 2011-2018
Childrens/Juvenile Books in good condition.
Comic books-Graphic Novels
In addition to books, we also accept donations of DVD media.
-DVDs, Blu-ray Discs
We do not accept:
-Books that are damp or moldy
-General encyclopedias (World Book, Britannica, etc.)
-Travel guides more than 5 years old
-Legal statutes and casebooks
-Magazines
-Loose CDs, DVDs, etc. without their cases
-Home-recorded (aka burned) CDs, DVDs, etc.
-VHS tapes, Audio CDs, LPs
-Books on CD and tape
-Computer software and console games
-Text books
All profits benefit the Basel Stadtbibliothek, American Women’s Club of Basel, Anglican Church of Basel and Centrepoint of Basel. Many books are donated to schools and other non-profit organizations. Notable books are offered to the collections of the Basel West Library.
